The fund primarily allocates at least 80% of its total holdings to mortgage-backed securities that are guaranteed by the Government National Mortgage Association (GNMA), an entity supervised by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. A smaller portion, up to 20% of its assets, may be invested in other premium-grade securities that do not carry the direct guarantee of the U.S. government.
