Geron Corporation is an advanced-stage biopharmaceutical company dedicated to the creation and market introduction of treatments for myeloid blood cancers. Its primary drug candidate, imetelstat, is a telomerase inhibitor currently undergoing Phase 3 clinical evaluation. This therapy aims to suppress the unchecked proliferation of cancerous stem and progenitor cells characteristic of myeloid hematologic malignancies. Imetelstat is being developed to address low or intermediate-1 risk myelodysplastic syndromes and intermediate-2 or high-risk myelofibrosis.
