The fund distributes its investments among three primary asset groups. The first is the equity sector, which includes various types of stocks and other funds that invest in equity securities. The second is the bond sector, comprising all forms of fixed-income instruments with maturities exceeding one year; this also incorporates higher-risk, lower-rated debt, commonly referred to as high-yield or "junk" bonds, along with funds that focus on these types of securities. The third is the short-term and money market sector, encompassing fixed-income holdings due within one year or less, and funds that invest in such instruments.
