SEI Investments Strengthens Advisor Support Through Strategic Acquisition of Stratos Wealth Holdings
SEI Investments Company has successfully completed the initial phase of its strategic investment in Stratos Wealth Holdings, a significant move aimed at bolstering support for financial advisors across the United States. The acquisition, valued at approximately $441 million, captures about 81% of the total transaction, establishing SEI-Eclipse Holding Company, LLC as the management entity for Stratos. Under the stewardship of Founder and CEO Jeff Concepcion, Stratos will continue to operate under its established brand and client service model, focusing on delivering personalized solutions to its network of over 350 financial advisors in 29 states.
The partnership is poised to enhance Stratos' service offerings through SEI's advanced technology and asset management capabilities. SEI's CEO, Ryan Hicke, highlights the critical role of advice, asset management, and administration in today’s wealth management landscape. By integrating Stratos' operations with SEI's resources, the partnership aims to scale services and drive growth for financial advisors, empowering them to meet the evolving demands of their clients effectively. Concepcion adds that the collaboration reinforces Stratos’ commitment to providing tailored solutions that support advisors in achieving their growth objectives.
As part of the transaction, SEI plans to invest a total of $544 million for a 57.5% equity stake in SEI-Eclipse Holding Company, while existing Stratos equity holders will retain a 42.5% stake, with provisions for SEI to acquire full ownership in the future. This strategic collaboration not only reflects SEI's evolution within the financial sector but also underscores its dedication to equipping advisors with the necessary tools and support in a rapidly changing environment, ensuring they can thrive and deliver exceptional client experiences.
In addition to this acquisition, SEI continues to make strides in its global Private Banking division, having completed numerous client implementation projects and signed new professional services engagements throughout 2025. The firm's Project Management Office (PMO) and Professional Services teams are actively addressing the challenges of digital transformation, which according to a McKinsey study, often falters due to poor planning and inadequate change management. SEI's expertise in managing these initiatives positions the company as a leader in delivering scalable solutions tailored to the needs of regional and community banks, further solidifying its role in the financial services landscape.
With these developments, SEI Investments Company demonstrates its commitment to fostering growth and innovation in wealth management, ensuring that financial advisors are equipped to navigate the complexities of the industry effectively.
