Mischler Financial Group Strengthens Capital Markets with New Appointment
Mischler Financial Group, the nation's oldest diversity-certified investment bank owned and operated by service-disabled veterans, announces the appointment of Andrew Cherna as Managing Director of Capital Markets. Cherna brings over 30 years of extensive financial industry experience, having held influential roles that include Head of Investor Relations at Solar Mosaic and Global Head of Structured Product Syndicate at J.P. Morgan Securities. Positioned to report to Rob Karr, Head of Capital Markets, Cherna's primary focus will be on enhancing relationships with issuers and investors while expanding the firm's capabilities in capital markets.
The addition of Cherna to the leadership team is seen as a strategic move to boost Mischler’s service offerings and strengthen client relationships. Rob Karr emphasizes that Cherna’s deep expertise in structured products and fixed income markets will be instrumental in driving the company’s growth. CEO Dean Chamberlain further highlights that Cherna's appointment reflects Mischler's commitment to attracting top-tier talent and leveraging industry knowledge. This aligns with the firm's broader mission to enhance its position in capital markets while maintaining its dedication to the veteran community.
Cherna himself expresses enthusiasm about joining Mischler, citing the firm's exceptional reputation and its commitment to excellence as key motivating factors. The appointment comes at a time when Mischler is looking to broaden its services, which already include primary debt and equity markets, share repurchase programs, and FX hedging. As a federally certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), Mischler continues to focus on initiatives that empower veterans across the nation, reinforcing its unique position in the financial sector.
In addition to Cherna’s significant appointment, Mischler Financial Group remains committed to fostering an inclusive environment that not only promotes diversity within the investment banking sector but also actively supports the veteran community. This focus on community empowerment is a core component of Mischler's business strategy, underscoring its dedication to leveraging financial expertise for broader societal impact.
