Avelo Airlines Expands Travel Options with First International Service from Wilmington

Avelo Airlines marks a significant milestone with the launch of its first international route from Wilmington International Airport (ILM) to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. This development represents not only the debut of Avelo's international service but also ILM's inaugural venture into international flights. Operating twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays, Avelo uses Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft to provide nonstop service, thereby reinforcing its commitment to expanding affordable air travel options for the Wilmington community. The introduction of the Punta Cana route is part of Avelo’s ongoing growth since it commenced operations in April 2021.
