This rebranding initiative introduces a new logo and color palette that symbolize unity and innovation, aligning with OBIO®'s expanded national presence and commitment to the life sciences sector. Dr. Maura Campbell, President and CEO of OBIO®, articulates that this transformation reflects the organization's evolution over the past 15 years and its pivotal role in fostering collaboration and innovation within the industry.
OBIO® has played an instrumental role in supporting small to medium enterprises (SMEs) within the life sciences field. Over its 15 years, the organization has successfully connected these SMEs with over 600 investors, facilitating essential funding opportunities. Additionally, it has empowered more than 1,000 Canadians through job-related skills training, ensuring a skilled workforce is available to meet the growing demands of the health technology sector. Notably, OBIO® has also vetted over 250 innovative technologies through its Early Adopter Health Network (EAHN™), showcasing its commitment to identifying and promoting cutting-edge advancements in health technology.
In its ongoing efforts to strengthen the life sciences ecosystem, OBIO® recently launched two national programs in partnership with Upskill Canada and the Government of Canada. These initiatives specifically address the burgeoning fields of biomanufacturing and digital technology, responding to increasing industry demands. Furthermore, the organization continues to promote diversity and inclusion through its Women in Health Initiative (WiHI), having facilitated networking for over 700 women. As OBIO® looks ahead, this brand transformation is seen as a crucial step toward enhancing engagement with a diverse community of stakeholders, reinforcing its mission to establish Canada as a leader in the commercialization of health tech innovations.
