Ceva's AI DSP Technology Enhances Automotive Sensor Processing
Ceva, Inc. announces a significant advancement in automotive technology with the licensing of its SensPro™ AI DSP architecture to BOS Semiconductors for the Eagle-A standalone ADAS System-on-Chip (SoC). This collaboration marks a pivotal step towards optimizing real-time sensor processing for advanced driver assistance systems and autonomous vehicles. The Eagle-A SoC is designed with high-performance components, including a neural processing unit (NPU), central processing unit (CPU), and graphics processing unit (GPU), along with dedicated interfaces for integrating camera, LiDAR, and radar systems. This integration aims to enhance perception capabilities and safety-critical intelligence in modern vehicles, which is increasingly important as the automotive industry evolves.
The SensPro AI DSP is tailored to minimize latency in perception pipelines by efficiently pre-processing LiDAR and radar data. This capability allows for more accurate real-time perception, a necessity in the fast-paced environment of autonomous driving. Jason Chae, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer at BOS Semiconductors, emphasizes that the Eagle-A SoC is not only designed to deliver robust domain-level compute performance but also to manage complex sensing workloads effectively. The collaboration between Ceva and BOS highlights a shared commitment to advancing sensor technology, thereby reinforcing BOS's position in the competitive automotive AI landscape.
Further enhancing the Eagle-A’s functionality is BOS's innovative chiplet strategy, which promotes scalability by enabling multi-die configurations linked through advanced interfaces like UCIe and PCIe. This modular design is particularly advantageous as it caters to a wide range of automotive ADAS requirements while extending applicability to edge AI domains, including robotics and drones. Yaron Galitzky, Executive Vice President of AI Division at Ceva, expresses pride in supporting BOS's ambitious vision for next-generation ADAS systems, underscoring the importance of collaboration in pushing the boundaries of automotive technology.
In addition to its partnership with BOS, Ceva also announces the integration of its AI DSP technology into NXP Semiconductors' S32Z2 and S32E2 real-time processors at CES 2026. This integration is crucial for the burgeoning software-defined vehicle market, projected to grow from $213.5 billion in 2024 to over $1.2 trillion by 2030. The S32Z2 and S32E2 processors are engineered to meet the increasing demands for safety and intelligence in automotive applications, leveraging Ceva's SensPro AI DSP to facilitate real-time decision-making and intelligent perception.
As the automotive sector increasingly embraces centralized computing architectures, the collaboration between Ceva and NXP positions both companies at the forefront of this transformative shift. By enhancing sensor data processing capabilities, they contribute to the development of vehicles that are not only smarter but also more responsive to their environments. This partnership exemplifies how advanced processing technologies are integral to the future of mobility, with implications that extend beyond traditional automotive applications into various domains.
