Strategic Development in North Phoenix: A New Era of Hospitality
A2Z Smart Technologies is positioned to observe a significant development in the hospitality sector with LaPour Partners and Holualoa Companies finalizing their acquisition of land for a new dual-branded hotel in north Phoenix. This ambitious project includes the construction of an AC Hotel by Marriott and an Element by Westin, which will collectively provide 240 guest rooms—142 rooms allocated for the AC Hotel and 98 extended-stay accommodations for the Element. The 8-story hotel, nestled within the CityNorth Master Plan area, is strategically located to cater to the burgeoning demand from both leisure and business travelers. With its planned groundbreaking in Summer 2025 and completion scheduled for January 2027, the development promises to enhance the hospitality landscape in this rapidly growing region.
The significance of this dual-branded hotel extends beyond mere accommodation; it represents a response to the increasing corporate activity in the Loop 101 business corridor. Jeff LaPour, president of LaPour, emphasizes the hotel’s role in serving the needs of this expanding area, which is witnessing notable growth fueled by developments associated with the Mayo Clinic and the ASU Biomedical campus. The hotel will provide essential amenities such as 5,700 square feet of flexible meeting space, a saline pool, outdoor fireplaces, and EV chargers, catering to the needs of business travelers while also enhancing the general guest experience.
Moreover, the collaboration between LaPour and Holualoa is driven by a commitment to sustainability, as they aim for GreenKey Certification for the hotel. This focus on environmental responsibility aligns with current trends in hospitality, where guests increasingly prioritize eco-friendly accommodations. Aroon Chinai, Chief Investment Officer at Holualoa, expresses optimism about the project’s potential to elevate hospitality offerings in North Phoenix, indicating that it will not only meet the immediate needs of the community but also set a benchmark for future developments in the area.
The hotel project reflects a broader trend towards diversified hospitality that accommodates varying guest needs, combining short-term and extended-stay options within the same property. This innovative approach is likely to resonate well with the increasing number of travelers seeking flexible lodging solutions.
As A2Z Smart Technologies continues to monitor developments in the hospitality industry, the dual-branded hotel in north Phoenix stands out as a significant project that could redefine the landscape of business and leisure travel in the region. The anticipated growth in the area, paired with the hotel’s sustainable design, positions it as a notable player in the evolving market.
